Can your Enneagram type change?
Most people’s core type stays the same over a lifetime, but how it shows up can shift a lot as you grow and as your circumstances change. Your wing and how you behave under stress or when you are thriving can all vary, which is why the same type can look quite different in two people.
What is a wing in the Enneagram?
Your wing is the neighbouring type you lean toward, which adds shading to your core type. Each type has two possible wings, one on each side, and your result shows the one you scored highest on, written like 3w2 or 3w4.
Is the Enneagram the same as the 16 personalities test?
No. They come from different traditions and give different results. A 16-type test gives you a four-letter code from four dimensions, while the Enneagram gives you one of nine types built around a core motivation. If you would like both views, you can also take our free 16-type personality test.
How accurate is a free Enneagram test?
A free test is a useful starting point rather than the final word. With 45 questions it gives a clear steer toward your most likely type and wing, but the best check is whether the description genuinely sounds like you. Read the top two or three types if your result feels close.
Do I need to sign up to take the test?
No. The test is completely free, there is no sign-up, and your answers are scored in your browser. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
