When analyzing patterns in a workflow diagram, one can identify that a particular process is repeated every fourth step and adds an additional action to the sequence. After the 12th step is completed, what would you expect to happen at the 16th step?

Careers at Ford

Ford uses a competency based approach to assessment. Competencies are defined as the behaviours that individuals must have, or must acquire, to perform effectively at work, the personal attributes or inputs of the individual.

Competency type questions are often used to evaluate a candidate’s competence, and have been shown to be related to how well someone subsequently performs on the job.

Ford Aptitude Tests

Ford Numerical Reasoning Tests

Ford’s numerical reasoning test comprises of a number of questions, usually 20, to be answered in an allotted time. Generally you are given one minute per question. They relate to graphs, percentages and tables whereby you will be asked to analyse data and chose from a set of multiple choice answers. This is designed to measure your numerical abilities.

Ford does not say who builds its tests. Its own apprenticeship pack calls the stage a behavioural and aptitude online test and names no publisher, so prepare for the question types rather than one publisher’s house style.

Ford Inductive Reasoning Tests

Ford’s inductive reasoning test comprises of questions relating to sequences of shapes and patterns. In each question there will be a missing step and you will be provided with a number of answers to choose from. These are designed to test your logical reasoning as well analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ford Group Exercise

The group exercise demonstrates how you work and perform in a team. The group will be presented with information, including a number of issues and you will need to produce solutions. Ensure to find a balance between speaking up and making your point but without dominating the group. You must show the assessor that you can work well in any situation, especially within a team as that is something that will be expected of you at the company.

Ford Role Play

This will be based on a scenario provided and you will be assessed on your behaviour, your knowledge and the way you handle certain scenarios. The role play will be relating to a type of situation that you would be faced with in the job and you will be required to think quickly. Ensure you have a good background knowledge of the company and its values.

Ford In-tray Exercise

In-trays make use of a simulation in which you receive e-mails which you are expected to read, prioritise and process in order to complete several tasks. These tasks are representative of those that you might be expected to undertake in a work or business setting. It will assess your written communication, decision-making skills and ability to multi-task.

Interesting

It's so interesting and made my brain work so sharply and correctly, even though the time was running. There's nothing I don't like about the test; it's good.

Lengthy questions, required more time

Liked the questions but too long for the allocated time.
