Phone screening
If you successfully pass your assessment tests, you will be invited to a phone screening that usually lasts about 20 minutes.
The screening consists of some basic questions about your resume and will discuss the requirements of the position. You may be asked some questions about your knowledge of the company, so it’s good to do thorough research beforehand.
Interview(s)
Depending on the position you applied for, you may have a video or in-person interview.
Video Interview
A video interview involves you pre-recording yourself answering 5 to 6 interview questions, which will be then sent to recruiters for further assessment.
It’s important to stay calm and to present well structured answers when recording yourself answering these. Using the STAR method can help and preparation/practice is crucial.
In-person interview
The final stage of the hiring process is in-person interviews.
An in-person interview will be more detailed, so it’s important you practice interview questions and techniques for answering them. The STAR method is a great way to handle a variety of questions (Situation, Task, Actions and Results).
Be prepared for questions about the company values, as this is something Verizon will ask you about. Do your homework and lots of research on the company beforehand, so you feel confident talking about this.
Applicants for call center and customer service positions might be asked to role-play a series of mock phone calls. You may also be asked to listen to recorded customer service calls, and evaluate how the representative handled the situation.
If successful, you may have to complete a background check as well as a few items in Verizon’s pre-hire portal.
