Irwin Mitchell Assessments
This type of exercise is designed to test your people skills and how you work within a group. You will be required to work within a group to solve a problem or answer a question that is provided by the assessors and will be assessed on how you interact. Make sure to find a happy balance between being dominating and passive. The assessors are looking for someone who can contribute but not take over. Working in a team is vital as almost all companies require you to do so. Your ideas and contributions will also be assessed.
Watson Glaser Critical Thinking
W-GCTA contains five sections designed to find out how good an individual is at analytical and logical reasoning and it measures ability to logically analyse assumptions, arguments, deductions, inferences and interpreting information. You will be required to sit this at the assessment centre.
This exercise is used to test your analytical skills and problem solving abilities. The format of it will be different to normal case study type exercises, with it likely being based on instructions. You’ll be presented with information which you will be expected to read and analyse and find a solution. It will also be used to test your writing skills, spelling and grammar. It is a good idea to practice these type of tests ahead of time, especially if you have a weakness in your spelling and grammar.
