What is the TfL assessment process?
For its apprentice, graduate and intern schemes, Transport for London uses a strengths-based online assessment rather than a traditional aptitude test battery. After you apply online, you complete a two-stage online assessment, provided by Cappfinity: the first stage presents scenarios you rank by preference, and the second asks you to respond to realistic role scenarios, some by video. Candidates who progress attend an in-person assessment centre that combines an interview with a group exercise, presentation or technical task. Experienced and operational roles apply through the main jobs site and may follow a different process.

TFL Situational Judgement Tests
The SJT are completed first in the application process after the online application form. These psychometric tests present the reader with a series of scenarios that would potentially take place in the work place and the reader is then asked to choose from a multiple choice set of answers for how they would best deal with the situation. It is advisable to read up about the morals and values of the company prior to this. These are designed to assess how you would fit into the company.
TFL Numerical Reasoning Tests
The TFL Numerical Reasoning psychometric tests are designed to measure your numerical abilities and relate to graphs, percentages and tables whereby you will be asked to analyse data and chose from a set of multiple choice answers. This type of test is normally timed and usually you are given a minute per question. It is therefore a good idea to practice sitting these in timed conditions. You may be asked to sit this again at the assessment centre.
