Centrica Aptitude Tests

Centrica Numerical Reasoning Tests

Centrica’s numerical reasoning tests comprises of a series of questions relating to graphs, percentages and tables whereby you will be asked to analyse data and chose from a set of multiple choice answers. These will be timed so ensure you sit them in a quiet environment.

Centrica Verbal Reasoning Tests

This test comprises of a series of paragraphs which you will be required to read and then answer questions. Your options will be True, False or Cannot Tell. the verbal reasoning test will be assessing your analytical skills. These will be timed and you will be required to do a fair amount of reading so make sure you are somewhere where you can concentrate.

Centrica Personality Tests

This is like the SJTs and is likely to be asked depending on the role you are applying for. You will be given various scenarios and will be asked to rank your answers. This type of test is designed to assess how suitable you are for the role and how you will fit into the company and align with its values.

Centrica Written Exercise

This will involve analysing material. You will be given information, possibly a letter of complaint from a customer, and you will be then expected to produce a written answer addressing all of the information within the response. You will be assessed on your writing, vocab and communication as well as your clarity and how concise you are.

Centrica Group Exercise

You may be required to participate in group work. This is designed to test your people skills and how you work within a group. You will be required to provide possible solutions to a given problem and discuss with the group. You’ll be placed in groups and will be assessed on how you interact in groups. Make sure to find a happy balance between being too dominating and too passive.

Centrica Presentation/ Case study

You will be given a series of topics for a business presentation, usually in the form of a case study or a scenario relating to Centrica and will be expected to present at the assessment centre. You will not be given a huge of amount of time to prepare however researching the company and how they do business is highly advised beforehand and will help with this part of the assessment.

Centrica Role Play

You might be required to take part in a role play exercise. This will be in the form of ‘meetings’ where you will be assessed on your behaviour, your knowledge and the way you handle certain scenarios.
