FCA Group Exercise

This type of exercise is designed to test your people skills and how you work within a group. You will be required to work within a group to solve a problem or answer a question that is provided by the assessors. For the group exercise you’ll be placed in groups and will be assessed on how you interact. Make sure to find a happy balance between being dominating and passive. The assessors are looking for someone who can contribute but not take over.

Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Tests Tips

1Familiarize Yourself!

Don’t let the test format throw you off your game. Spend quality time with Practice Aptitude Tests getting to know the lay of the land—this means the structure, timing, and types of questions. Being comfortable with the format can shave off precious seconds and calm those nerves.

2Practice Under Time Pressure

These tests aren’t just a walk in the park; they’re a sprint. Time management is key, so when you’re practicing, always keep an eye on the clock. Learning when to move on from a question is just as important as answering it correctly.

3Understand the Why

Sure, you might guess your way to a correct answer on occasion, but understanding the reasoning behind it solidifies your skills. When reviewing answers, make a point to understand why an answer is correct—this will improve your ability to tackle similar questions in the future.

4Keep Your Cool

Test jitters can be the downfall of many. Develop a calm test-taking strategy with breathing techniques or positive self-talk. Entering the test with a cool head can mean the difference between a flustered guess and a thoughtful response.

You have to be very quick when answering

Questions got harder as you go along which is good. You have to average 1 min / question which is very hard to do especially since the ones at the end take much longer than 1 min to work out
