It is imperative that you read the information provided to you accurately before you start answering the questions. If you miss a little information, you can lose marks. Read all the instructions too that are given at the start of the paper. These instructions will help you while answering the questions.

## Step 2: Divide your time well

Mostly, the duration of the numeracy tests is twenty minutes. Along with other activities in an assessment center, it is essential that you manage your time while solving the numeracy test. Always have an eye on the clock and answer maximum questions correctly within the given time. Roughly, spend about sixty or ninety seconds on a problem.

If you get stuck while answering a question, don’t waste time thinking about it. You can solve the other easy queries. In the end, if you have some time, you can return to the question that was bothering you and can think about its answer peacefully without worrying about the time.

## Step 3: Practice different tests

Numeracy tests mean you are dealing with numbers, so the syllabus for such tests is clear-cut. As the practice is the key to success, so try to practice as much sample tests as possible. This will help in improving your speed while solving calculations as well as you will get familiar with the format of the test. If you have done your preparation well, then there is a high chance of you passing the test.

## Step 4: Bring your calculator

If your test is being conducted in an assessment center, then the staff will ask you to use their stationery like a calculator, but it is recommended that you bring your own calculator as you will be familiar with its buttons and functions. It will save you time as compared to using a calculator which is unknown to you. Also, avoid borrowing things from others as it will distract you and waste your time as well.

## Step 5: Concentrate on the relevant data

Sometimes numeracy tests have questions that have unnecessary information to confuse you. Thus, firstly read the question correctly, figure out what is relevant information and what is irrelevant. Don’t waste your time understanding the irrelevant information. It will confuse you, and you might mess up your answer.

## Step 6: Study the fundamental concepts

Numeracy tests have questions based on the general concepts of maths such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, ratio & proportion, decimal conversion, rounding off numbers, percentages, etc. You have studied these concepts during your secondary education; hence, you have to revise them. Numeracy tests aren’t that difficult; you have to improve your speed as it involves calculations.

## Step 7: Have confidence

Before the test, have a good sleep and have a nutritious breakfast in the morning. Both good sleep and breakfast will provide you energy to give your best performance. Without energy, you will exhaust soon. If you have done enough practice, then be confident while solving your paper. Trust your knowledge.

Numeracy tests evaluate your ability to use numbers rationally and logically. The questions are gauging your mathematical knowledge rather than your educational experience. The queries determine your comprehension of topics like numerical transformations, number series, the different relationships between numbers, and the way you solve calculations. Don’t consider numeracy tests as a burden. Remember you are preparing yourself for the future. These tests will increase your knowledge and experience. The preparation will refine your previous knowledge.
