Simmons and Simmons Assessments
Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Test
This test is designed to assess critical thinking skills relevant to problem solving and decision making. W-GCTA contains five sections designed to find out how good an individual is at analytical and logical reasoning and it measures ability to logically analyse assumptions, arguments, deductions, inferences and interpreting information. This will be timed and there is a lot of information to take in and analyse and so practice is vital.
You’ll be given material to read, usually a letter, and be expected to write a formal response. This will be to assess your written communication skills as well as grammar and vocab and how you would deal with given scenarios in the workplace.
Document Review Exercise
You will be presented with a series of documents which you will be asked to read in an allotted time. You will then be interviewed by the assessors on what you have read. This not only tests your general comprehension, attention to detail and picking up on errors but also what you take from the text and how you analyse it.
